Hi!
Sometimes I found myself writing and writing with my thumbs on the
cellphone or scrolling the screen without any sense and I ask to myself: “why
are you doing this?” And then I convince to myself that I need to do something
useful.
I think that’s a big problem of the technology, because sometimes
it ends with our concentration, but I also think that is a useful implement for
somethings like the study, for example, if I have to tune my cello, I usually
take my phone to use the app of the tuner and hear the note that I need to be
in the right tune.
In other cases, I use the technology for read music sheet when I don’t
want to print the parts or when I try to generate less paper to the planet. I
think is a really good way to save money.
Other think that the technology allows me is to listen all the
music that I want. That is really important and a big benefit for all the
musicians (and for all the people I think), because we have the opportunity of
compare different versions of the music and choose the thinks that we want to
use on our study of the music.
And one of the things that I really appreciate of all the things
that technology brings me, is the opportunity to apply to different institutions
and festivals outside the country and can learn about other ways to play the
cello.
But I also think that technology is something dangerous, because
as I said it before, it ends with our concentration, not only at the study or
work, also on the personal relationships, because we are making the bad habit of
do everything through the cellphones and we need the personal contact to show our feelings and to do real friends.
I completely forgot to mention the tuner in my post. You are very right. It is a very useful object to study. I used it on my phone to improve my tuning when I study singing.

Well, as the saying goes, “all in excess is bad” and the social media is especially addictive, the time pass fast when we see memes.
