Jackie

Jacqueline Du Pre is the best woman cellist that I know. She was born on January 26th, 1945, Oxford and she was married with the famous conductor Daniel Baremboim.

She has the most emotional and perfect version that I know of the Elgar's cello concerto and one of my favorites version of the Brahms 2nd cello sonata. She was too young to play as well as she did it, so was very famous because of her age and her talent.

Something sad about her life is that multiple sclerosis attacked her body, so she had to withdraw from the music at 28 years old.

When she played the Elgar's cello concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra, she did it in her  Stradivarius Davidov  powerfull cello (one of  the best cello that exist in the whole world) and now that instrument belongs to another big cellist: Yo-yo Ma

I admire her because she put a lot of passion in all the pieces she plays and in every intepretation she can touches my heart.

I dream everyday to play the cello with same passion that she.
